Intersil Appoints Emery Sugasawara to Vice President of Quality & Reliability 3/15/10 - Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL) announced the appointment of Emery Sugasawara, 52, to the role of Vice President of Quality & Reliability. Mr. Sugasawara comes to Intersil with over 30 years of experience, most recently as Senior Director of Quality & Reliability at LSI Corporation. Over the course of his 26 year career with LSI, he completed rotational assignments in process engineering, product & test engineering, foundry operations and quality & reliability. Mr. Sugasawara was part of the management team that transformed LSI's operations to a complete fabless model, transitioning through a fab-lite model similar to Intersil's asset-lite manufacturing strategy. He provided technical direction for process transfers, yield enhancement, test chip design, silicon to simulation validation, process and package qualification, customer quality engineering, ESD protection and failure analysis. Prior to his career at LSI, Mr. Sugasawara spent four years with Intel Corporation as a process engineer and section head supervising the lithography development group. "We are honored and excited to have someone of Emery's caliber join Intersil," said Sagar Pushpala, Intersil's Senior Vice President, Worldwide Operations and Technology. "Emery brings us considerable experience in engineering, operations, and quality & reliability. We're confident he will maintain Intersil's quality at industry-leading levels and help deepen relationships with our customers and manufacturing partners worldwide." "Emery is an excellent example of the outstanding talent that we are adding to Intersil's leadership," said Dave Bell, Intersil's President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Sugasawara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and has been awarded 25 U.S. patents. |
