Actiontec Lowers the Cost of Broadband Deployments Single CPE Solution for Any Broadband Network 11/10/09 - Actiontec Electronics announced the Q1000H
Wireless N VDSL Modem Router
-- a residential powerhouse that packs in a wireless N radio, Gigabit
Ethernet LAN and WAN support, dual-core 32-bit processor, support for HPNA
(LAN and WAN), and superior memory architecture (32MB Flash, 64MB SDRAM).
The product's unique versatility dramatically reduces capital and
operational costs for carriers, as it offers a single CPE solution for
their entire network.
With built-in VDSL2 with Auto Fallback to ADSL 2+/2, HPNA 3.1 (HomePNA), and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces on the WAN side, the Q1000H provides unprecedented deployment flexibility. Carriers can now use the same CPE device across all their deployment topologies -- in metro areas, rural, and anywhere in between. As a result, the versatile device fits into any ultra-broadband or broadband access architecture, including ADSL, VDSL, fiber to the curb, fiber to the neighborhood, even fiber to the home. Plus, carriers can seamlessly upgrade residential customers to faster speeds and new services all while using the same Q1000H modem router as before. "We have been working closely with many of the high speed Internet carriers and the Q1000H directly addresses the application needs and challenges associated with their current and future broadband initiatives," explained Brian Henrichs, Chief Business Development Officer at Actiontec Electronics. "By offering a single SKU for an entire broadband architecture, the Q1000H delivers significant operational savings by streamlining ordering, inventory, training, installation, and support processes for the service providers." As one of the most robust home gateways ever built, the Q1000H ensures a glitch-free experience for HDTV, standard TV, voice, media sharing, online gaming, and other multimedia applications. The Q1000H is among the first modems to support HPNA 3.1 on both the WAN (carrier) and LAN (home networking) side. HPNA technology transforms existing coax cables and phone lines into high speed connections with speeds over 100 Mbps. Support for the latest HPNA 3.1 standard provides guaranteed QoS, ensuring the quality levels needed for broadcast quality IPTV. The device features integrated support for 802.11n , the latest and fastest wireless networking protocol. With performance speeds six times faster than earlier standards, 802.11n lets consumers download HD movies in minutes or enjoy an online gaming experience that nearly rivals wired cables. The Q1000H also features MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) smart antenna technology that improves overall home coverage with fewer dead spots. Also included is a fully customizable firewall with Stateful Packet Inspection, denial of service protection, content filtering, intrusion detection, plus WPA/WPA2 and WEP wireless encryption to keep unwanted visitors from accessing the home network.
