Operating on the 700 MHz frequency band recently cleared by broadcasters, the network is integrating Airspan's MicroMAXd platform. The 700 MHz solution is ideal for areas with low population density or for long-range coverage scenarios, requiring much less infrastructure and offering significant cost-savings.

"Green Hills, a rural Telco, first became a 700 MHz customer in 2004. They are now converting their Airspan legacy infrastructure to Airspan's 700 MHz WiMAX solution. We have been very happy with Airspan's service and equipment," said J.J. Stutler, CEO of Stutler Technologies. "We selected Airspan for the Base Station deployment cost as well as the ease of CPE management and support. We are counting on the WiMAX network to allow more customers per base station and better throughput. During our first base station conversions we have seen both."

Airspan is the only vendor to currently offer a 700 MHz WiMAX solution. Designed to leverage the frequency band characteristics, the Airspan solution encompasses a robust, secure and easy-to-deploy system.
