Airspan WiMAX Solution Selected for Missouri Broadband Wireless Deployment 10/12/09 - Airspan Networks Inc. (PINKSHEETS: AIRO) announced
Stutler Technologies has purchased Airspan WiMAX equipment for Green
Hills Companies broadband network offering high-speed data services in
Missouri.
Operating on the 700 MHz frequency band recently cleared by broadcasters, the network is integrating Airspan's MicroMAXd platform. The 700 MHz solution is ideal for areas with low population density or for long-range coverage scenarios, requiring much less infrastructure and offering significant cost-savings. "Green Hills, a rural Telco, first became a 700 MHz customer in 2004. They are now converting their Airspan legacy infrastructure to Airspan's 700 MHz WiMAX solution. We have been very happy with Airspan's service and equipment," said J.J. Stutler, CEO of Stutler Technologies. "We selected Airspan for the Base Station deployment cost as well as the ease of CPE management and support. We are counting on the WiMAX network to allow more customers per base station and better throughput. During our first base station conversions we have seen both." Airspan is the only vendor to currently offer a 700 MHz WiMAX solution. Designed to leverage the frequency band characteristics, the Airspan solution encompasses a robust, secure and easy-to-deploy system. "Airspan is just beginning to tap into the WiMAX 700 MHz market potential," commented Declan Byrne, Chief Marketing Officer for Airspan. "We are working closely with Stutler to target our legacy customers as well as other 700 MHz license holders. Airspan has the most comprehensive WiMAX solution to serve rural and emerging markets." In addition to the 700 MHz frequency band, Airspan's MicroMAXd is also available for operation on the 1.5, 3.3, 3.5, 3.7, 4.9, 5.1, 5.4, 5.8 and 5.9 GHz bands. Stutler Technologies is one of the largest US system integrators for major wireless equipment manufacturers and specializes in complete RF, telephony, networking and tower services as well as continued customer network education and support. Stutler Technologies caters to the needs and issues of the rural telephone community and actively works with both licensed and unlicensed fixed applications. With specific expertise in the 700 MHz and 3.65 GHz frequency bands, Stutler has nationwide deployments in 39 states and with over 60 700 MHz license holders.
