Beceem & Couei Enabled Worldmax to Maximize the Performance of Its 3.5GHz Mobile WiMAX Network

6/2/09 - Beceem Communications, a leading developer of Mobile WiMAX chips , and Couei, a leading provider of wireless test tool solutions, are jointly demonstrating how to maximize and mobilize WiMAX networks in the 3.5GHz spectrum.

"During our ongoing network optimization it became increasingly clear that we cannot maximize the performance of our network and devices without real-time visibility into the behaviour of the WiMAX airlink," said Keimpe Algra, CTO of Worldmax. "Couei's XCAL and XCAP tools allowed us to optimize our network design and to unlock the full performance of our devices based on Beceem's WiMAX chips."

We could not have had better partners than Worldmax, who is very focused on optimizing the performance of its WiMAX network, and Beceem, who has an extremely powerful device chip, that performs particularly well at low signal strength and high-speed mobility."

"And we are grateful to Couei for providing such powerful tools that allowed Worldmax to push the performance envelope of its WiMAX network at 3.5 GHz, which allowed our chips to flex their advanced signal processing capabilities."

Couei's XCAL and XCAP wireless optimization tools provide the necessary insight into the 3.5GHz WiMAX airlink that allowed Beceem to tune the frequency specific signal processing in its WiMAX chip in a way that allowed it to support mobility in a 3.5GHz network, something that wireless veterans previously deemed 'impossible.'

A live demonstration showing the performance of Beceem's WiMAX chip, operating on the 3.5GHz Worldmax network, and visualized with Couei's XCAL optimization tool will be shown on June 2nd and 3rd at the Coeui booth, # 3.429, during the WiMAX Forum Global Congress.
