FCC Grants Approval for Redline's Latest 3 GHz Broadband Wireless Products 1/15/08 - Redline Communications Inc. announced the Company has received approval from the United States' Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for its MAX+ AN-80i product. The MAX+ AN-80i, which is currently marketed under Redline's RedCONNEX family of point-to-point Broadband Wireless Infrastructure (BWI) products, is now approved for delivery of carrier-grade long-range connections of up to 48 Mbps within the 3.65 GHz frequency band regulations in the United States. "With the FCC approval of the MAX+ AN-80i, wireless operators across the United States now have an ideal solution for establishing long-range wireless connections in the 3.65 GHz band, which is being used by many operators for deployment of WiMAX networks," said Kevin Suitor, Vice President, Marketing. "Redline has established itself as a leader in delivering interoperable access solutions for the 3.3 to 3.8 GHz bands. The introduction of the MAX+ AN-80i to this market gives operators more flexibility to offer complementary services under the same umbrella." Redline's RedCONNEX MAX+ AN-80i operates in the 3.3 to 3.8 GHz WiMAX bands, enabling operators to cover up to 500 MHz of spectrum (in accordance with operators' regional regulatory restrictions) with a single software configurable radio solution. Complementing Redline's RedMAX products, which are focused on residential and small business access, the MAX+ AN-80i is built for high throughput backhaul type connections, providing an ideal solution for mobile operators looking for a licensed band alternative to point-to-point microwave technologies, especially when deploying small cells in urban environments. Offering the lowest-latency connections in the 3.65 GHz frequency band, the MAX+ AN-80i also gives network operators the ability to offer premium business-grade communication services to large enterprise customers in addition to their WiMAX access service offerings. "Having conducted extensive trial deployments of Redline's MAX+ AN-80i over the last several months, we have found it to be the highest quality and most reliable of any radio in its category," said Robert Bain, Owner of noWyr, Inc., a broadband and last mile service provider operating in the Pierce and King Counties, in Washington State. "We have relied on Redline's broadband wireless infrastructure products for several years, having chosen them to replace competitive products that were not performing to our standards. We are pleased that Redline has introduced the MAX+ AN-80i and has furthered its leadership in the delivering high-performance products for the 3.65 GHz band." RedACCESS MAX+ AN-80i The FCC-approved MAX+ AN-80i will also be marketed under the RedACCESS(TM) family of point-to-multipoint broadband wireless infrastructure products in 2009. The RedACCESS MAX+ AN-80i enables operators to connect multiple sites within a single wireless network. Redline's Broadband Wireless Infrastructure (BWI) products Redline offers a full suite of solutions under its RedCONNEX and RedACCESS families of point-to-point and point-to-multipoint BWI products. The Company's BWI products have been deployed by operators and other enterprises around the world to support a range of applications including mobile backhaul, video surveillance, storage and business continuity, premium Internet access, and other voice, video and data services. The BWI products operate in the 3.3 - 3.8 GHz WiMAX bands, 4.9 GHz, 5.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz spectrum bands. The products leverage Redline's proven OFDM technology to deliver industry-leading, high-speed Ethernet throughput up to 90Mbps and flexible software defined configurations. With their exceptional long range capabilities, Redline's BWI products enable network operators to establish and maintain reliable and highly secure connectivity that can exceed 80 km (50 miles) in clear line-of-sight conditions.
