Tranzeo and TRG Sign Joint Development Agreement to Create WiMAX Radios for Indonesia

12/27/08 - Tranzeo Wireless Technologies Inc. (TSX:TZT), a manufacturer of wireless broadband and WiMAX communication systems, has signed an agreement to jointly develop WiMAX subscriber units for the Indonesian market with PT. Teknologi Riset Global (TRG), a subsidiary of the Indonesian Tower Group, a leading telecommunication infrastructure provider in Indonesia.

The agreement establishes a foundation for Tranzeo and TRG to collaborate on the development of WiMAX subscriber units based on the 802.16d standard to be incorporated into TRG's total WiMAX solution for the Indonesian market. With the impending release by the Indonesian government of spectrum at 2.3GHz and 3.3GHz for WiMAX broadband services, the two companies are developing WiMAX subscriber units specifically for the unique requirements of the Indonesian market.

Indonesia is emphasizing local content in telecommunication equipment to spur the country's economic development. The collaboration between Tranzeo and TRG will combine world class radio expertise from Tranzeo with TRG's system expertise to satisfy the local content requirements.

With a population of 237 million people of which an estimated 10 percent are Internet users and only 1.5 million have broadband access, WiMAX is expected to see rapid adoption.

"WiMAX is an ideal solution for the development of broadband wireless access in Indonesia. This partnership with TRG positions our two companies to lead in the development and deployment of WiMAX systems in Indonesia," said Jim Tocher, President and CEO of Tranzeo.

"We are pleased to be working with Tranzeo to develop and deploy world-class WiMAX equipment in Indonesia. Tranzeo has an excellent reputation world-wide for creating high performance and high quality radios for the broadband wireless market," said Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, President Director of Indonesian Tower.
