Westcon Group North America Announces Key Promotions as Part of Partner Engagement Strategy 12/15/08 - Westcon Group, Inc . announced key promotions within its North American product sales team. Rob
Sbarra (Vice President of Cisco Product Sales), Joe Nicoletti (Director of
Security Product Sales) and Richard Roux (Director of Avaya Product
Management) are each veterans of Westcon Group North America's (WGNA)
product sales team and will be responsible for planning and executing
partner engagement processes. These processes will, in turn, create greater
value for customers in economically challenging times.
Sbarra will lead WGNA's Cisco practice; Nicoletti will lead its security partner engagement initiatives, while Roux will lead its Avaya engagement initiatives. Key elements of the partner engagement process include planning and execution of onboarding, technical and sales training, marketing and demand generation and vertical market penetration. Anthony Daley, Executive Vice President of Westcon Group, explained: "We congratulate Rob, Richard and Joe on each of their well-deserved promotions. Through their leadership in working with each of our key partners, we will be able to effect positive change in process and business strategy to deliver even more robust customer offerings. This is an absolute requirement, as our customers continue to look for growth in an increasingly uncooperative market environment." In light of the current economic conditions, Westcon will continue to help its customer base develop and articulate networking strategies for economically challenged companies, particularly small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). In their new roles, Sbarra, Nicoletti and Roux will each drive strategic interaction with WGNA's manufacturer partners to help achieve this goal. "The majority of SMBs are extremely or strongly concerned about the current and expected state of the U.S. economy over the next 12 to 18 months," said Justin Jaffe, senior research analyst for SMB programs at IDC. "Although SMBs are expected to drive greater growth in IT spending than the corporate IT market overall, it will be critical for vendors to understand how changing economic conditions will impact the spending habits of companies of certain sizes, vertical industries, and attitudinal characteristics." * Sbarra, Roux and Nicoletti will play a key role in driving and supporting the continued success of Westcon Group's solution programs in North America, which include SecurityPoint, ConvergencePoint, OneVoice and OneDefense among others. Much of this work involves direct interaction with Westcon Group's key manufacturer partners.
