Ekahau Certifies Interoperability With Aerohive Wireless LANs

11/12/08 - Ekahau Inc. and Aerohive Networks announced that Ekahau has certified Aerohive's wireless LAN equipment to work with Ekahau's RTLS products. This certification provides customers with the assurance that Ekahau RTLS may be quickly and easily deployed on Aerohive wireless LANs and that the wide range of Aerohive's advanced capabilities, such as mesh networking, work with Ekahau technology.

The companies also announced that Aerohive and Ekahau have joined each other's partner programs and that they have entered into a co-marketing agreement to coordinate their account engagements.

Aerohive wireless LANs are ideally suited for Ekahau RTLS deployments. The wireless mesh capabilities of Aerohive's wireless LAN access points ("HiveAPs") make it easy for customers to add or reposition HiveAPs to improve the accuracy of the RTLS, even in hard-to-wire areas. In addition, because Aerohive's cooperative control architecture eliminates the need for centralized network controllers, customers need not worry that adding another access point will exceed a controller's capacity and require a costly upgrade.

"Aerohive's cooperative control architecture and built-in wireless mesh capabilities provide unique advantages in location-enabled Wi-Fi environments," said Tuomo Rutanen, vice president of business development, Ekahau. "Ekahau's mission is to provide the easiest, most cost-effective, and most accurate Wi-Fi positioning solutions, and partnering with Aerohive enables us to deliver the highest-quality solutions possible."

"Ekahau's state-of-the-art location products provide workflow automation, asset tracking, and supply chain management while increasing safety and security," said Sheen Khoury, executive vice president, sales and field operations, Aerohive Networks. "Aerohive's focus on the healthcare, manufacturing, and logistics markets makes our partnership with Ekahau complementary and synergistic."
