Redline Enhances Network Management with Aptilo on Mobile WiMAX Solutions 10/1/08 - Aptilo Networks and Redline Communications Group Inc. announced that the two companies have entered into a global technology agreement to utilize Aptilo's service management and access control solutions in Redline's RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX deployments worldwide.
The joint solution will incorporate Aptilo's WiMAX CSN System, the market's first pre-integrated wireless broadband data and voice services solution for standards compliant mobile WiMAX authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA); policy management and service control with Redline's RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX products based on the 802.16e-2005 standards for Mobile WiMAX. Aptilo and Redline are jointly pursuing deployment opportunities in the Philippines, Latin America, Saudi Arabia and South Africa. The RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX family, which includes the WiMAX Forum Certified RedMAX 4C RPM subscriber unit, supports a wide range of fixed, portable and mobile wireless services including voice and video services. The RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX platform includes the highest capacity base station on the market supporting up to 512 users per sector controller and is designed to enable operators to maximize the reach and customer density required for a profitable carrier business model. "With Aptilo's WiMAX CSN platform, our customers can leverage a seamless, end-to-end mobile WiMAX solution that can be deployed quickly. It is a feature-rich solution that has been proven in numerous deployments, including larger-scale as well as in emerging markets," said Kevin Suitor, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Redline Communications. "Our customers will benefit from a true Mobile WiMAX solution utilizing best-of-breed technologies which will enable them to deploy more profitable business models. Aptilo's WiMAX CSN System is a flexible, multi-access (WiMAX/Wi-Fi) solution that has most typical CSN subsystems integrated into the platform prior to deployment, which reduces deployment time and costs in procurement, integration and overall maintenance. It delivers a highly flexible and versatile AAA, policy management and service control solution for Mobile WiMAX and Wi-Fi network services, with support for prepaid data and Voice over IP (VoIP) services. The integrated data and voice services solution provides authentication, authorization and accounting through multiple authentication types and enforces Quality of Service (QoS) and service flow profile parameters for users, devices and services. "The end-to-end mobile WiMAX offering from Redline Communications offers service providers a fully integrated solution, which significantly reduces time-to-installation and the time it takes to achieve profitability," said Torbjorn Ward, Chief Executive Officer, Aptilo Networks. "We are delighted to be working with Redline Communications, an industry leader in WiMAX wireless broadband solutions." The Aptilo WiMAX CSN System is fully interoperable with WiMAX NWG compliant clients and Access Service Network (ASN) nodes such as WiMAX 802.16e-2005 based Base Stations, Access Services Network (ASN) Gateways and Mobile IP Home Agents (HA) through standard interfaces defined by The WiMAX Forum(R).
