AT4 wireless Selects Azimuth Systems' Ace TM 400WB Channel Emulator for Mobile WiMAX Testing

9/26/08 - Azimuth Systems, Inc. announced that AT4 wireless, a global supplier of testing solutions for wireless technologies, has selected the Azimuth ACE 400WB channel emulator for integration into AT4 wireless' automated WiMAX interoperability testing solution. ACE 400WB integration allows AT4 wireless to emulate numerous real-world conditions necessary for accurate and repeatable RF performance, mobility and interoperability testing in a laboratory environment.

AT4 wireless, the first world-wide WiMAX Forum Designated Certification Laboratory and WiMAX Forum lead laboratory, provides key services to the WiMAX industry, including the certification of WiMAX CPEs and base stations. The company will use the ACE 400WB as a critical element in the automation of WiMAX interoperability testing performed at its US-based WiMAX Certification and testing lab in Herndon, VA. The laboratory is the site of conformance, interoperability and performance testing for vendor and service provider infrastructure and mobile devices.

"The use of the ACE 400WB system in AT4 wireless' WiMAX interoperability testing has enabled us to not only automate the process in order to make testing more efficient, but also to incorporate the ability to effectively emulate real-world multipath conditions such as shadowing, path loss and propagation delay," said Jose Aurelio Rodrigo, chief operating officer of AT4 wireless, Inc. "The fact that Azimuth Systems provides unparalleled expertise in channel emulation testing made the selection of the ACE 400WB a logical choice for us."

The ACE 400WB features industry-leading channel modeling capabilities designed specifically to test the enhanced capabilities required for MIMO-based WiMAX testing. Offering extreme ease-of-use, a flexible scripting environment, full bi-directionality and superior RF fidelity, the ACE 400WB readily supports the demanding requirements of WiMAX conformance, performance and interoperability testing.

"We're pleased that AT4 wireless has selected the Azimuth ACE 400WB to perform automated WiMAX interoperability testing that will provide operators and subscribers with the confidence that WiMAX devices will easily and seamlessly work together," said George Reed, vice president of marketing and product management at Azimuth Systems. "We remain committed to continued support of AT4 wireless' world-class WiMAX testing efforts."
