The Canadian Wireless Industry is Building Momentum 9/1/08 - At a time where wireless technologies are helping us increase our productivity by leaps and bounds, and at a time when we are living an unprecedented deployment of wireless networks, applications, tools and services, Mobile Maestria initiates the 1st Canadian Wireless Management Forum, in partnership with TechnoMontreal and the International Institute of Telecommunications (IIT).
The Canadian wireless industry is filled with innovative companies. Over the years, wireless technology has helped create thousands of jobs across the country, making it an important part of the Canadian economy. However, there is still much work to do to consolidate a strong and dynamic ecosystem which will be able to support the growth of wireless companies. Like an industry that beats to the rhythm of "converging", the Forum aims to be another area of "convergence" where all major players will unite under one roof: Rogers, Bell and Telus, as well as other important names in the industry including; Microsoft, RIM, Motorola, Wavesat, and a select and chosen group of Canadian SMEs providing tangible and innovative solutions to the needs of the different industries. The Forum is providing an ideal format to be better informed; exchange ideas, and discuss an exciting industry that is in full swing, one that fits the background of emerging new technologies. How do we keep up? Are we using our portable devices at full capacity? Is our personnel properly trained? The proliferation of multi-feature devices that may include a phone, texting capabilities, a camera, biometric monitoring ... has only just begun. The large multinationals are already in a tug-of-war to gain the upper hand. What we're seeing now is just the tip of the iceberg thus a meeting of the size proposed by the Canadian wireless management forum is indispensable. Montreal, a hub of the Canadian wireless industry, will host this unique event on next October 9 at the Hyatt Regency Montreal. The Canadian wireless management forum, a unique event in Canada, proposes a single place of meeting, in response to the needs and concerns of the decision makers and a link between technologies, business solutions and the needs of businesses. A roundtable discussion entitled "Face to face between supply and demand" will be chaired by the International Institute of Telecommucations. Industrialists and experts will discuss in depth different solutions to improve collaboration between different industry players and possible solutions to commercialize innovations while demystifying perceptions of barriers to innovation. The Forum proposes an extremely convivial formula which is articulated around three axes: Theme 1: Management, billing - Theme 2: Productivity, mobility and security - Theme 3: Emerging technologies and R & D. The programming and the activities are focused on maximizing business relations between companies (B2B): productive content, leading wireless-industry speakers and experts, an industry round table and business meetings. Responding directly to the concerns of managers, the Forum is intended for every type of small, medium and large business of all horizons, searching for new wireless technologies, as well as companies, institutions and other organizations working in the wireless industry. Some 300 decision-makers are expected to attend. Want to read more local city news? Try:
