Focus Enhancements Demonstrates Low Cost HD UWB Video Streaming for Consumer Applications at Computex 6/5/08 - Focus Enhancements, Inc. (NASDAQ: FCSE), a worldwide leader in Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, video conversion and digital media, will demonstrate HD Video Streaming at Computex Taipei from June 3-7.
"At Focus Enhancements we have concentrated our efforts on developing a robust UWB radio that is capable of reliably delivering both wireless video and audio within a room," said Michael Ngo, vice president of engineering for Focus Enhancements' semiconductor group. "Our solution demonstrates that high quality wireless video can be delivered over a single transmit and receive UWB radio compared to higher cost multiple antenna (MIMO) based solutions." In the Computex demonstration, 1080i high definition video content will be transmitted wirelessly over approximately 5 meters, although the solution is capable of distances greater than 14 meters leveraging the full WiMedia PHY rate up to 480Mb/s. Additionally, multiple video streams are achievable over shorter distances. The demonstration platform utilizes Focus Enhancements' TT1013 WiMedia compliant UWB system in a package solution that is currently available for engineering sampling. The TT1013 is expected to be qualified and available for wireless multi-media streaming applications in the fourth quarter 2008. Want to learn more about wireless technologies?
