Proxim Wireless and net.art Enable Social Inclusion for 3000 Users Across 15,000 Sq. Km. in Germany

04/02/08 - Proxim Wireless Corporation (NASDAQ: PRXM ) announced that it has supplied broadband wireless equipment to net.art, an ISP in Bad Kreuznach, for its FUNKITOWN Internet access and VoIP service across the region of Rheinland-Pfalz.

net.art required a resilient solution with quality of service in order to provide its customers with residential high speed broadband voice and data access across this rural area of 15,000 sq. km. Having evaluated the market, net.art chose the Proxim Wireless Tsunami MP.11 solution due to its support for high quality voice transmission and superior feature set. The Proxim Wireless system is also scalable and robust, allowing for network expansion as the FUNKITOWN service grows.

"The service has been a great success and our customers in these rural areas are thrilled that they now have Internet access. We are continuing to extend the network and expand the service, adding new locations monthly, which is why we required a scalable, easy-to-install, robust and cost effective network. The Proxim Wireless system has fully met our expectations and we are pleased to be working with them as we move forward with our growth plans," explained Thomas Kremer, Managing Director of net.art.

"Our technology is proving ideal for these digital and social inclusion projects covering wide rural areas. This deployment demonstrates the flexibility, scalability and reliability of our Tsunami product line," added Joerg Loesche, Regional Director Central Europe at Proxim Wireless.
