1/17/08 - Ubidyne announced a Joint Development Agreement with Andrew Wireless Solutions to design the next generation of base station antennas with embedded micro-radio technology. Ubidyne's patent pending technology is the first of its kind in the wireless industry enabling a digital distributed architecture comprised of unique algorithms and proprietary ASICs. This technology allows for efficient, standards agnostic wideband transmission and reception, and enables the complete integration of the active RF sub-system in a standard-size, fiber-fed, electronically-steerable, base station antenna.
"Ubidyne is breaking new ground in our industry with their introduction of the very first digital radio system integrated within the base station antenna," said Jim Bowen, Group Vice President and General Manager, Base Station Antennas, Andrew Wireless Solutions. "We are working together to continue to develop leading edge solutions for the RF path for the wireless communications industry, long the focus of Andrew ' s technology development."
"This integration will result in a revolutionary product with tremendous improvements in coverage, performance and flexibility," commented Ken Hawk, CEO of Ubidyne. " We are pleased to announce our partnership and we look forward to working closely with Andrew to bring innovative solutions to their customer base."
