Clarendon Hills, Ill., Deploys 4.9GHz Municipal Wireless Broadband Network to Enhance Mobile Video Surveillance Security System 12/17/07 - Federal Signal's Safety and Security Systems Group, a leader in advancing security and well-being, and the Village of Clarendon Hills, Ill., announced the deployment of a 4.9GHz municipal broadband wireless networked security system to enhance public safety and security around the village's downtown train station. "Federal Signal's video surveillance system meets our need to protect our citizens and train station," said Clarendon Hill's Chief of Police Patrick Anderson. "This system feeds vital public safety data to our police station to help officers monitor events. It also offers access to video images in their vehicles that will better prepare officers to respond to events before they arrive on scene at the train station." Federal Signal's municipal networked security system provides Clarendon Hill's first responders with a platform to send vital high-speed data, including streaming video, over a licensed 4.9 GHz wireless mesh network. "Federal Signal and Clarendon Hills are enhancing public safety and security with advanced broadband wireless and video surveillance technology," said David R. McConnaughey, president of Federal Signal's Safety and Security Systems Group. "We are delighted to partner with Clarendon Hills to help protect people, property and the environment in their community." Federal Signal's municipal networked security system is part of Federal Signal's interoperable industry platform that advances public safety and security in communities and workplaces around the world.
