Wisair Bolsters Ultrawideband Management Team with Seasoned Semiconductor Veterans

8/15/07 - Wisair, a leading provider of Ultra Wideband (UWB) and Wireless USB (WUSB) chipset solutions, announced that it has enhanced its management team with two seasoned managers from the wireless semiconductor industry. Ziv Azmanov joins the company as vice president of marketing and Tal Keren-zvi joins as the Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) vice president.

David Yaish, Wisair president and CEO noted, "Ziv and Tal bring to Wisair expertise from renowned Fortune 500 companies. Their semiconductor and wireless knowledge further strengthens our management team, while aiding our mission to shift Wisair from an emerging-market contender to a dominant provider of WUSB and UWB ICs. As such, I am delighted to have both individuals on board at this time."

Azmanov's years of extensive marketing and product development experience from the semiconductor industry will add significant value to Wisair's executive team. Prior to Wisair, Azmanov was vice president of marketing at Octalica Inc., which was recently acquired by Broadcom. Before Octalica, he was manager of the Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) business line at Texas Instruments.

Earlier in his career, he was director of marketing for National Semiconductor's Amplifier Group and the business unit director of National's Geode X86 processor product group. Azmanov holds several U.S. patents and has presented and written many papers for leading industry publications and conferences. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tel Aviv with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He received a master's degree in business administration (MBA) from San Jose State University in California.

Keren-zvi brings more than 15 years of chip development and program management to Wisair. Most recently, he was manager of all worldwide wireless PAN programs at Texas Instruments. In this role, he led a team of more than 100 engineers, spread over three continents, that specialized in wireless communications designs integrating analog, digital and several RF cores on the same chip. Previously, he was manager of VLSI development at BrightCom Technologies, a creator of Bluetooth silicon solutions. Prior to this, he was director of ASIC development at Chromates-Lucent. He also served as the ASIC Chip team leader at 3COM/US Robotics/Scorpio. Keren-zvi received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Tel-Aviv University.

Wisair is a fabless semiconductor company providing Ultra Wideband (UWB) chipset solutions, based on Certified Wireless USB, for personal computing, consumer electronics and mobile devices. Adopted by leading brands around the world, Wisair's host and device solutions are recognized for their superior coverage, range and throughput.
