FCC Certifies Rayawave's Airebeam E-band Point-to-Point Broadband Wireless Links

4/5/07 - Rayawave Inc. announces it has received the official FCC PART 101 equipment certification approval for it's Airebeam E-band product line. Airebeam products are the only E-band product lines in the market that provide full-duplex and full throughput point-to point connectivity at Gigabit Ethernet as well as Fast Ethernet speeds.

The Airebeam product line offers a variety of networking speeds and various antenna configurations, allowing a customer to tailor solutions to their distance and bandwidth requirements. This enables cost-effective deployment of Airebeam products with ultra high availability levels up to 99.999%, making it an ideal fit for last mile access and wireless point to point infrastructure applications.

In today's networks, fiber is not readily available and in many cases the only affordable solution is low capacity copper based solutions. The Airebeam product portfolio empowers enterprise customers to interconnect campus buildings at fiber-like networking speeds at 1.25 Gbps or 100 Mbps speeds without the hassle and high cost of trenching fiber or leasing fiber lines. Network operators can provide high-capacity services as well as backhaul mobile wireless and metropolitan area networks with a rapid return on investment. In addition, Rayawave's high capacity and low latency gigabit wireless radio solution can be used to create a scalable wireless networking infrastructure for IP video surveillance applications carrying a large amount of bandwidth-intensive video traffic.

"The development of the Airebeam product line was driven by more than a decade of field experience with various high capacity last mile access technologies including fiber optics and free space optics (FSO)", said Dr. Heinz Willebrand, President and CEO of Rayawave. "The guiding principles behind the Airebeam products were to provide the bandwidth needed to fulfill application specific requirements as well as reduce the total cost of ownership. The Rayawave E-band technology offers the best of all worlds when it comes to combining high bandwidth, system availability, flexibility, ease of deployment, and cost of ownership."

The Airebeam technology performance is similar to terrestrial fiber in terms of bandwidth and reliability but it can be deployed within days utilizing the quick internet based licensing system. Rayawave utilizes Comsearch as their database manager for quick and easy registration of Airebeam(TM) wireless links operating in the 70 GHz bands, ensuring interference-free operation with commercial and Federal Government users.

Rayawave products are sold through leading value-added resellers and wireless distributors.
