CrystalVoice
Communications, Inc. announced that the University of Arkansas
at Pine Bluff (UAPB) has deployed CrystalVoice's Click-to-Talk
solution, the most advanced and highest quality product of its kind in
the area of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Internet
Telephony.
UAPB is a technologically progressive institution, having deployed
one of the most advanced communications systems of any university in
the world. UAPB is also a showcase account for Cisco Systems since the
University was the first in the world to install a campus-wide IP
Telephony system and an extensive wireless network solution for
students, faculty, staff and administration.
The deployment of Click-to-Talk enables instant communications
access to students, faculty, and staff members from an Internet
connected PC, anywhere in the world.
"We are honored to be working with UAPB. Their reputation for
professionalism and technical expertise has been clearly evident
through all of our interaction," said Paul Metzner, Director of
Worldwide Cisco Channel Sales at CrystalVoice.
A visitor to the University's website is now able
to select the Click-to-Talk link on the UAPB homepage and be connected
instantaneously, via their PC and Internet connection, to any
University phone extension.
Click-to-Talk leverages the value of UAPB's significant investment
in Cisco IP Telephony by expanding the University's reach across the
country and around the globe.
"CrystalVoice has truly voice-enabled the Internet. The
Click-to-Talk solution is a first-class product, and is the only true
business-quality voice solution we have ever seen over the global
Internet," said Maurice Ficklin, Director of Technical Services at
UAPB. "We were amazed when we heard the voice quality and further
impressed with the ease in which we were able to install it," Ficklin
continued. "In fact, the CrystalVoice solution was one of the easiest
software products we have ever installed. We had it up and running in
less than 5 hours, start to finish."
Family members, friends, associates, and prospective students
worldwide are now able to call over the Internet and experience the
power of the only high-quality, reliable, and consistent Internet
Telephony solution available.
Although the elimination of communication costs for both the
caller and UAPB is clearly significant, the real value is the instant
access and extended reach afforded by the solution. A family member of
a foreign student, a traveling faculty member, or a remote University
associate is now able to contact UAPB over the Internet, with
consistent quality from any Internet connection, including dial-up,
wireless, broadband, and satellite.
