| 12/17/05 - The Broadband Wireless Exchange Magazine announced that the publication is seeking all Wireless ISPs (WISPs) with more than 1,000 fixed wireless customers to participate in the 2006 Top 10 Wireless ISP listing. WISPs that would like to be considered for the Top 10 Award should send an email to rhoskins@bbwexchange.com.
Each company selected will be included in a feature article that discusses the current state of the Wireless ISP business and issues facing WISPs in the next 3 years such as WiMAX, Wi-Fi, security, marketing, spectrum interference issues and other issues that impact Wireless ISP operations.
"The Wireless ISP business continues to thrive and is growing much faster than most people predicted," said Robert Hoskins, BWE's Editor. "When we started compiling our list of WISPs in 1999, there were only 700 wireless operators in business. Now our database includes more than 3,000 WISPs, but we predict there are probably more than 5,000-6,000 small WISPs still operating under the radar screen. If there are WISPs out there with more than 1,000 customers, we want to know who you are. Please contact us so we can give you the recognition you deserve."

BWE also collects information on the largest Wi-Fi Hotspot operators and will be seeking to build a list of the Top 10 Wi-Fi Hotspot Operators early in 2006. |
