| 12/16/05 - Nomadix, Inc. announced it will integrate enhanced revenue-generating and roaming functionality into HarborLink's public-access Wi-Fi footprint. HarborLink Network LLC is a leader in the development of advertising-based, Wi-Fi HotSpots and HotZones, and is using Nomadix' technology to simultaneously offer services based on customers' individual needs. In addition, Nomadix will enable Nomadix Interconnect Services(tm) (NIS) in HarborLink's expanding network of more than 230 locations in 24 states-including municipal deployments in Dayton, Worthington, and Columbus, Ohio.
"With its emphasis on service creation and scalability, Nomadix' technology supports a variety of different business models," said Rick Tangeman, president of HarborLink. "We are therefore able to expand our footprint and revenue beyond HotSpots into larger-scale and higher-profile venues. We are rapidly expanding into the delivery of a diverse set of new applications to our customers."
Nomadix' public-access gateways, which operate the Nomadix Service Engine(tm) (NSE), create the multi-layered service environment critical to HarborLink's new deployments. NSE software is fully customizable, and is tailored to allow HarborLink to offer attractive services on a variety of revenue-generating platforms. In addition to the ad-based revenue model that has helped HarborLink garner much of its acclaim, NIS Intelligent Roaming will allow HarborLink's venues to attract additional clientele and revenues.
The NSE resides in venue, carrier, or service provider infrastructure to enable connectivity in public access environments. Embedded on the NSE itself, Nomadix' patented gateway software immediately and invisibly adapts a computer's proxy settings to enable a secure, easy-to-use connection. Since its inception, Nomadix has shipped 25,000 NSE-enabled units to customers in over 60 countries. NIS Intelligent Roaming is a Wi-Fi roaming aggregation service that attracts new customers and revenues for service providers and their venues. |
