Colorado Wireless Service Providers Purchase APConnections' Netequalizer to Assure QOS Throughout Wireless Footprint

APconnections announced that Mesa Networks, a wireless Internet service provider located in Frederick, CO, and AirWave Access, a wireless broadband service provider located in Parker, CO, have purchased APconnections’ NetEqualizer Data Shaper quality of service (QoS) bandwidth shaping appliances for deployment throughout their wireless footprint.

The combined Mesa Networks’ and AirWave Access’ coverage areas enable the largest continuous chain of wireless Internet services in Colorado. Coverage extends along the Front Range from the Wyoming border to the northern suburbs of Colorado Springs. With the deployment of NetEqualizer Data Shaper on each wireless tower throughout each provider’s wireless footprint, wireless customers who select AirWave Access or Mesa Networks can be assured that they are receiving high quality wireless service 24X7.

“AirWave Access and Mesa Networks are two of Colorado’s premier wireless service providers,” said Art Reisman, founder and CEO of APconnections. “The addition of NetEqualizer to their networks enables them to relieve bandwidth congestion and improve network response times without requiring extensive changes to their existing infrastructure.”

“Our business is built on the promise of high-dependability and outstanding performance,” said Robert Mann, GM operations of AirWave Access. “Therefore, quality service, even during times of peak usage and congestion, is key to our business. We needed a cost-effective bandwidth shaping solution that would help us to assure quality, but was easy to install and manage. NetEqualizer came through on both fronts. Installation was plug-and-play and we didn’t have to hire expensive policy “gurus” to make it work. NetEqualizer ensures that we can continue to deliver ‘jaw-dropping’ speeds to our customers—without breaking the bank.”

"Our mission is to reduce the 'Digital Divide' in Colorado by providing quality high speed Internet services at reasonable prices with superior customer service," said Bill Fowler, co-founder and CTO of Mesa Networks. "To deliver on that our promise, we needed a QoS solution that was cost-effective, low-maintenance, and able to make decisions dynamically. The NetEqualizer Data Shapers are up and running in minutes. Installations have been virtually plug-and-play. In every location we've installed them, quality of service has improved significantly and customers are more pleased than ever."

NetEqualizer DataShaper appliances are flexible, scalable and cost-effective bandwidth control products designed for both corporate and service provider networks. They are plug-and-play, allowing network administrators and operators to quickly and easily bring network traffic into balance without having to build and manage extensive policy libraries and with no changes to existing network infrastructure.

NetEqualizer Data Shaper appliances use built-in rules-based, application-level traffic-shaping technology to dynamically control traffic based on current network usage, including traffic levels and application types. When the network is congested, the fairness algorithm favors business class applications, including Web browsing, chat and email, at the expense of large file downloads. This approach allows network administrators and operators to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction without having to purchase additional bandwidth.

Built-in flexibility allows network administrators and operators to change all settings in real-time, with no affect on network service quality. For organizations requiring 100% network uptime, the NetEqualizer can be configured for redundancy, with two NetEqualizer Data Shaper appliances running in parallel.

The NetEqualizer Data Shaper 1000d is rated and tested for up to 500 users and eight megabit links.

The NetEqualizer Data Shaper 2000d is rated and tested up to 2000 users and 50 megabit trunk.
