New Leadership for Prominent Television Transmitter

Broadband Wireless/MMDS System Manufacturer

McMURRAY, Pa., September 12, 2001 - Axcera, an industry-leading manufacturer of high-quality television transmitter equipment and broadband wireless access/MMDS equipment and systems, today announced the appointments of two veteran executives to lead the new company.

David Neff will serve as president and chief executive officer and Ken Foutz will serve as senior vice president and chief operating officer of Axcera (formerly ADC/ITS Corp.). Together, they have more than 55 years of experience in the broadcast, MMDS and broadband wireless markets, nearly 35 of those years with the company.

"David and Ken were instrumental in making Axcera an industry leader," said David Alfonso, vice president of business integration for Platinum Equity, Axcera's new parent company. "Their accomplishments and extensive knowledge of their business and customers make them the right people to lead the company into the future."

In his new position, Neff will be accountable for setting the new company's strategic direction, managing its sales and marketing efforts and continuing to grow the company. Foutz will concentrate on day-to-day operations, including product development, manufacturing and engineering.

Neff has served in various middle- and upper-management positions with the group, most recently as the vice president of the Broadcast Systems Division. He has more than 25 years of industry experience, including technical and design engineering positions with Contraves-Goerz Corp., the General Electric Co., Harris Corp. and Tektronix. He holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering technology from Point Park College in Pittsburgh and a master's degree in business administration from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY.

"For nearly 20 years this company served both the broadcast and broadband wireless/MMDS markets with top quality products and unmatched customer service," said Neff. "I am fully committed to building on these foundations, which have made the company a leader in both industries, and I am excited and eager to lead Axcera into the digital communications era."

Foutz has held various engineering, manufacturing and operations management positions with the company, most recently as the vice president of the Microwave Systems Division. Prior to joining the company in 1982, he held various engineering and technical positions with RCA Corp. He has a seat on the board of directors for the Wireless Communications Association as well as the Washington County Manufacturers Association. Foutz holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Point Park College.

"This is an exciting time for both the broadcast and broadband wireless markets," Foutz said. "We are looking forward to continuing to provide both markets with the most advanced products and services in the industry."

Platinum Equity completed the acquisition of Axcera from ADC Telecommunications Inc. September 1.
