American Tower Selects TESSCO as Primary Supplier

HUNT VALLEY, MARYLAND,  October 28, 2001 - TESSCO Technologies Incorporated (NASDAQ: TESS) a global supplier of product and supply chain solutions to the wireless communications industry, announced today a strategic agreement to be the primary supplier to American Tower Corporation (NYSE: AMT), a leading wireless and broadcast communications infrastructure company.

Under the agreement TESSCO will supply American Tower Corporation (ATC) with logistics and material management services necessary to help build and maintain its network infrastructure. TESSCO will configure and deliver products such as RF propagation components, test equipment, tools, and supplies to American Tower’s point of use, rather than to storage, as products are needed.  TESSCO will provide its proprietary customized KCDCä  (Knowledge, Configuration, Delivery and Control) system to integrate ATC’s wireless site logistics, with the objective of reducing product inventories, lowering total costs, and reducing the total build-cycle time.

Peter J. Sandore, President of American Tower’s Integrated Services division said, “By selecting TESSCO as our primary supplier of logistics services, we will be able to outsource ancillary requirements and allow greater resources to be focused on our tower site leasing, implementation services, and manufacturing operations.”

“We are excited to have been selected by American Tower to be their primary supplier and we look forward to supporting their requirements. Our companies are coming together to build the industry’s premier supply chain solution, which should benefit American Tower’s speed to market and return on capital,” said Robert B. Barnhill, Jr., TESSCO’s chairman and chief executive officer.
