Terabeam Chairman and CEO Dan Hesse to Keynote
Broadband Wireless World Forum; Largest Industry
Event Focused On Fixed Broadband Access Technology

ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 25, 2001 - Wireless industry leader Dan Hesse, chairman and CEO of Terabeam, a Seattle-based developer of free space optics telecommunications equipment and services, will participate as keynote speaker in the Broadband Wireless World Forum, the largest telecommunications trade event to focus on fixed broadband wireless services and technology.

Produced by Shorecliff Communications Inc. and hosted by Broadband Wireless Business magazine, The Broadband Wireless World Forum takes place Feb. 12-14 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim.

Terabeam, a leader in the development and deployment of free space optics, has developed a unique technology that uses invisible, eye-safe laser beams to link business customers to a high-speed data backbone for data services in place of fiber optic and other landline technology.

Terabeam sells free space optics equipment and professional services to telecommunication carriers and delivers fiber-like speeds to individual offices and buildings that traditional landline fiber optic networks have yet to reach.

Since Hesse became CEO in March 2000, Terabeam has created a strategic partnership with Lucent Technologies, raised $505 million in equity capital, attracted a highly accomplished management team and commercialized its proprietary "free space optics" technology.

Prior to joining Terabeam, Hesse served as the president and chief executive officer of AT&T Wireless Services, at the time the United States' largest wireless operator with more than 12 million customers, 20,000 employees and $8 billion in revenues. He also served as an executive vice president of AT&T.

"We are honored that Hesse has accepted our invitation to keynote this important broadband industry event," said Timothy Downs of Shorecliff Communications. "For our industry, bandwidth bottleneck over the last-mile is a major issue for businesses, and it is beneficial to showcase a company with a unique technology and business model such as Terabeam."

The Broadband Wireless World Forum is the largest annual trade event featuring fixed wireless technology and services. Leading technology suppliers Ensemble Communications, Nokia, Harris Corp. and Netro Corp. sponsors the event, which features more than 110 exhibitors and more than 3,000 attendees.  Additional information is available online at www.broadband-wireless.com, or by calling toll free 800/608-9641.
