TELOS Technology Announces the "Secured Lite"
Portable Wireless Network for Military Applications

TELOS Technology, Inc., a leading supplier of next-generation wireless telecommunications networks, today announced the addition of a next-generation, fully contained, portable communications system with NSA-approved Type 1 encryption to their product line. This system, the "Secured Lite" Portable Wireless Network, complements TELOS' existing Sonata Lite Network, which provides fast and easy deployment of wireless communication networks in emergency conditions that do not require the security of encryption.

Secured Lite includes all of the infrastructure equipment and software necessary to deploy an entire wireless network in under an hour. Housed in two compact, rugged transit cases, it is the only commercially available portable system of its kind that supports commercial secured calls and provides NSA-approved Type 1 encryption.

"The development of a portable communications network that supports Type 1 security is the direct result of a strong demand from the market," says Jack Mar, President and CEO of TELOS Technology. "Wireless security and secured emergency communications are top priorities for the U.S. government. Our Secured Lite system is ideal for rapid deployment in emergency situations, and the level of security makes it viable for both military and homeland security applications."

Secured Lite offers the full functionality and capability of next-generation mobile switching centers and base station subsystems but is designed for portability. The system can operate completely independent of other networks, allowing rapid build-out in a 5- to 10-mile area. It can also integrate with terrestrial (PSTN, PBX, PLMN) or satellite networks where and when available.

Sonata Lite, the portable system without encryption capabilities, has been available from TELOS Technology for a number of years. It is ideal for a variety of applications such as emergency communication requirements that result from such events as natural disasters or service outages, and in test labs.

Sonata Lite or Secured Lite can be rapidly deployed for instant telecom services. They easily interoperate with existing telecom networks and support industry wireless standards, including GSM, WCDMA and CDMA2000 1X. Both systems provide full mobility management via ETSI (GSM MAP) as well as IS-41 (MAP) standards.
