USURF America Announces Agreement to Provide
Wi-Fi Wireless Broadband Internet Access
Availability to 6,000 Colorado Springs Customers

SunWest Communications to market USURF Quick Cell(TM) services
to its Customers as well as to the Greater Colorado Springs area

BATON ROUGE, La., May 21, 2002 - USURF America, Inc. (AMEX:UAX) the developer of Quick-Cell(TM), a family of Wi-Fi standard broadband fixed-wireless high-speed Internet access products, announced today that it has signed a three-year exclusive agreement with SunWest Communications, Inc., under which USURF America is to provide availability to its Quick-Cell broadband wireless Internet access services to all 6,000 of SunWest's telephone customers in Colorado Springs, CO.

Under the SunWest agreement, USURF and SunWest will share Quick-Cell revenues generated from sales of wireless broadband Internet access services to SunWest's customers as well as market Quick-Cell service throughout the Greater Colorado Springs area. SunWest is to provide all wireline communications infrastructure - including the broadband back-haul connectivity - necessary for the implementation of USURF's Quick-Cell, as well as Quick-Cell marketing, installation, customer-care and billing activities. USURF is to provide the Wi-Fi standard Quick-Cell infrastructure, including the necessary fixed-wireless tower equipment and all customer premises equipment.

"This clearly is a win-win situation for SunWest's existing voice communications customers and USURF," said Doug McKinnon, President and CEO of USURF. "SunWest's customers now will be able to surf the web at speeds up to 50 times faster than dial-up service, with one number to call for any service issues and one bill. This agreement is consistent with our expanded strategy of entering new markets with partners to expand our customer base more rapidly."

Headquartered in Colorado Springs, SunWest Communications is a competitive local telephone company offering local telephone service, long distance and enhanced communications services to approximately 6,000 customers. "With USURF as a partner we can now offer broadband Internet services not only to existing customers, but it also opens the door for us to compete in Qwest territories where broadband is not available," said George Coon, SunWest Vice President. "We will now be able to provide a bundled service offering to both residential and commercial customers."
