Worldwide 802.11 SOHO Segment Grows While Enterprise Segment Declines in 1Q02 According to Dell'Oro Group
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 17, 2002 - According to Dell'Oro Group, the Wireless LAN -802.11 market (including 802.11a and 802.11b) declined 3% Q/Q with revenues of $352 million in 1Q02. While the Enterprise market experienced the typical 1Q01 seasonal drop, the SOHO market continued its strong momentum from 4Q01. Enterprise sales fell 16% while SOHO sales grew 10% Q/Q during 1Q02. The strength in SOHO sales was driven by aggressive price declines and promotions in conjunction with strong growth in broadband connections (DSL and Cable).
