AirWave Networks Launches Nationwide High Speed,
Broadband Wireless Internet Connection Service

Annapolis, MD, March 18, 2002 – AirWave Networks has launched a nationwide service specializing in the design, installation and maintenance of reliable indoor/outdoor wireless, broadband internet connections for apartments, commercial businesses, student housing and health care facilities.

AirWave creates intelligent data networks that provide broadband wireless service where you need it — when you need it. The Company's wireless networks provide access at up to 11 Mbps anywhere within office buildings, high-rise apartments, or residences.   Their wireless networks can be quickly and easily installed, to provide users with access to real-time information anywhere in and around their facility.

According to Barry Smale, Senior Vice President of Marketing, “This mobility improves productivity and enables service opportunities that are otherwise not possible with a wired network. For example, employees will be able to carry their laptops to meetings and stay online to send and receive emails even when away from their desks or access the corporate website via the Internet while giving a presentation.”

Air Wave can design and implement entire infrastructures including base stations, T1s, DSLs, routers, network cards and software. The networking architecture is highly scalable, accommodating increased user capacity without the expensive infrastructure cost associated with most wired installations.

The AirWave system employs an advanced wireless local area network technology (WLAN) to connect your computers, PDA or other device to the Internet.

Air Wave has developed proprietary RF software tools, which analyze the RF characteristics of the facilities both indoor or outdoor. These analytical tools combined with the experience of AirWave network engineers ensures that the entire facility will have broadband Internet everywhere.

To date, Air Wave has installed wireless networks at six facilities in Austin, TX, Tampa Bay, FL and Washington, DC for a total of 2,400 subscribers.  The average monthly cost per subscriber is $25 close to ˝ less than other high speed, wired providers.   By December, Air Wave’s goal is to secure an additional 7,500 subscribers.

According to Bill Rinard, President of Air Wave, “Some of the greatest benefits of wireless computing include mobility, flexibility, the ease and lower cost of installation, as well as the cost savings for maintaining the networks.”

Research shows that wireless local area networks (WLAN) could soon become a mainstream technology with predictions that the number of WLAN users will reach 24.6 million worldwide in 2004.  Frost & Sullivan, a leading market research company also expects the WLAN market to grow at the compound annual rate of about 40.3% between 2000 and 2007.
