SMC Latin America's California offices will provide sales, marketing and logistics support for the countries in Central and South America that will not be supported by in-country offices. "Opening dedicated, in-country offices will help SMC provide extensive service and support for our local customers, as well as provide valuable face-to-face interaction with our sales team," stated Jonathan Chang, president, SMC Networks Latin America, "It will help us gain a better understanding of the specific needs within each market and how we can adapt our products and services to address those needs." SMC's complete product line will be available through local resellers, and master distributors throughout Latin America. SMC's Mexican office will hold stock of the complete line for rapid distribution to the region, while the Brazilian office will receive stock from SMC's California distribution center. In-country service centers will also be a part of both branch offices, providing quick turn around on repairs and return services. SMC's Mexican offices will also provide toll-free telephone (01-800-123-2-762) and e-mail technical support during the hours of 9 a.m.-6 p.m. local time. While dedicated Brazilian technical support is expected to roll out beginning early Q3, Brazilian customers can still obtain technical support via the SMC Web site (www.smc.com).
