Proxim, Mediatrix, and Filanet
BeamSphere Partner Program Extends BeamReach
Technology to Business and Residential Applications
The three companies are joining BeamReach's newly inaugurated BeamSphere Partner Program, which has been established to facilitate development and interoperability of products and services which are complementary to the BeamPlex system, and which will expand the applications available to business and residential subscribers. Proxim provides localized wireless LAN solutions and residential 802.11 products; Filanet provides advanced security solutions for managed IP services; and Mediatrix provides voice over IP (VOIP) solutions.

Proxim has a very broad range of residential and small office/home office products that enable sharing of Internet connections, files, and printers. These products extend the functionality of BeamReach subscriber equipment by allowing wireless network connections within buildings. Through the use of Proxim's 802.11 products, mobility is enabled for untethered Internet access throughout the subscriber's residence or business location.
Mediatrix is a leader in the VOIP field with its network-edge solutions for the residential and business telephony marketplaces. Together with Mediatrix's broad product line of VOIP gateways, integrated access devices, and IP communications servers, BeamReach will be able to provide high-quality telephony solutions to its customers.
Filanet offers solutions for managed IP services delivery to small-to-medium businesses and telecommuter customers. The solution consists of a centralized web-based management platform, service provisioning portal, and an innovative line of cost-effective service appliances, the InterJak platform. Residing in each small office, the InterJak delivers Internet connectivity, security services, and wireless security services across a range of cost-effective appliances. The InterJak integrates an ICSA-certified firewall, intrusion detection, site-to-site and remote access VPN, advanced user authentication and additional IT services.
BeamReach's BeamPlex system incorporates the most advanced broadband wireless access technology to appear in the marketplace, representing the best opportunity service providers have ever had to successfully deliver broadband wireless services. The BeamPlex innovation incorporates BeamReach's patented Adaptive MultiBeam OFDM technology -- the seamless integration of adaptive beamforming, frequency diversity, and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). This 4th-generation technology concurrently delivers more than a 10 times improvement in spectral efficiency and up to a 16 times improvement in cell coverage area over 3rd-generation wireless technologies while maintaining subscriber data rates in excess of 1.5 Mbps.
