It is setting records for exhibits, pre-registrants and sponsors. Nearly 100% increase in papers submitted for juried review, as Next Generation wireless technical advances are commercially available. Exhibitions up 25%, including 6 exhibitor debuts (see below).

The Wireless Communications Association (WCA) today announced the following highlights for its Eighth Annual Technical Symposium. Setting new records in exhibits, sponsorships and speaker proposals, it has attracted some 630 pre-registrants so far.

With scores registering each day, the event is on track to break last year's then-record badge count of 1,067, which itself was an increase of 400% from the previous year's record.

"Broadband wireless companies are creating new, highly cost-efficient wireless technologies that meet more stringent carrier demands for high-capacity services prompted by difficult economic conditions," commented WCA President Andrew Kreig. "Carriers want to increase performance, while dramatically reducing cost and keeping equipment functioning reliably. Not everyone is up to this challenge. But those who meet it will find a clear path to an enormous market hungry for broadband."
