RF Solutions Joins Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance

ATLANTA, Jan. 9, 2002--RF Solutions, Inc., an emerging developer of integrated Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) semiconductor products, today strengthened its support of Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi5 products by joining the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance (WECA), announces Mike Hooper, CEO.

The WECA organization is a nonprofit international association that certifies interoperability of wireless Local Area Network (LAN) products. Its members consist of global technology leaders committed to unifying wireless LAN standards through promoting and certification of its essential components, Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b) and Wi-Fi5 (IEEE 802.11a).

"Becoming a WECA member is important in our pursuit of becoming the industry leader for high performance WLAN front-end products," states Hooper. "We will be delivering samples of WiFLEX(TM), our high performance dual-band (Wi-Fi + WiFi5) combo transceiver early next year, and providing market-wide compatibility is essential."

The company is committed to developing products that support Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi5 as exhibited by their recently expanded family of power amplifiers.

"WECA membership also provides the opportunity to partner with other member companies to develop and promote interoperable products while focusing on advancing technologies vital to the adoption of seamless mobile computing and communications," states Hooper.

    ABOUT WECA
The Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance (WECA) is a nonprofit organization formed in 1999 to certify the interoperability of Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b) and Wi-Fi5 (IEEE 802.11a) products and to promote them as the global, wireless LAN standards across all market segments.

WECA has instituted a test suite that defines how member products are tested to certify that they are interoperable with other Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi5 certified products. These tests are conducted at an independent laboratory.
