Hybrid Networks Names Scott C. McDonald Executive 
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Industry Veteran to Help Drive Company's Future Financial and Operational Growth

    SAN JOSE, Calif. January 24, 2002 – Hybrid Networks Inc. (Nasdaq SC: HYBR), the worldwide leader in high-capacity MMDS fixed broadband wireless Internet access systems, today announced that it has appointed Scott C. McDonald, 48, as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. McDonald succeeds Judson Goldsmith, who will be leaving the Company. Reporting to Michael D.

    Greenbaum, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. McDonald will be responsible for the company's administrative and financial activities and initiatives.

Mr. McDonald is a veteran business and management leader with extensive experience as an administrative, operations and financial executive. His 25 years of professional and business successes have included leading a series of initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and financial restructurings at a number of rapidly growing technology companies, including Conxion Corp., CIDCO Inc., PSI Integration, Inc. and Integrated Systems, Inc. In addition, Mr. McDonald serves or has served on the Board of Directors for a number of public and private companies.
