LAS VEGAS, Jan. 15, 2002 - 5G Wireless (OTCBB:FGWC - news) announced today the appointment of Jerry Dix and Brian Corty to the board of directors of 5G Wireless.
Mr. Dix has been in the wireless industry since 1994 and was a pioneer in the pre-paid cellular industry with Globalwise Communications and Prepaid Technologies. Mr. Dix has also been instrumental in the development of certain telemetry products that combines paging and GPS technologies in tracking assets anywhere in North America.
Mr. Corty, president of Wireless Think Tank, Inc. and operating as an independent contractor, has been instrumental in the development and deployment of many solutions for the high-speed wireless Internet industry including deployment of the first East Coast W.I.S.P. (Wireless Internet Service Provider) and has several patents awarded to him in the high-speed wireless industry. Mr. Corty has spent five years Deploying Breezecom (Alvarion Ltd., Nasdaq:ALVR), and Wavespan (Proxim, Inc., Nasdaq:PROX) Networks for several companies including Darwin Networks before branching out into his own development company to develop affordable turn-key Wireless Solutions.
