Fortress Technologies Appoints Veteran Technology and
Finance Executive Susan Venner as Chief Financial Officer

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 28, 2002 - Fortress Technologies, a leading global provider of infrastructure security solutions for 802.11 wireless networks, today announced the appointment of Susan K. Venner as chief financial officer. Ms. Venner, who brings to Fortress over 15 years of in-depth experience in finance and operations with technology companies, will lead financial, legal, and human resources functions.

Prior to her appointment at Fortress, Ms. Venner was COO/CFO of RedCreek Communications, an integrated hardware VPN company. She served as a key member of the executive team that engineered the turn-around and sale of the Fremont, California company to SonicWALL (Nasdaq:SNWL).

Prior to RedCreek, she served as CFO for Simplexity, a Herndon, Virginia Internet telecom procurement company where she successfully completed more than $45 million in financings and several acquisitions.

Ms. Venner also spent five years at Hewlett Packard where she managed finances for several business units and served as controller at the E-Commerce Verifone division. A degreed electrical engineer, she has also held positions managing IT and Engineering divisions for Chevron Corporation.

Ms. Venner earned a BS in Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ, and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles.
