Broadband Wireless Exchange Appoints
Daniel A. Clapp to National Accounts Director

Anaheim, Calif., February 11, 2002 – The Broadband Wireless Exchange, the leading site for research, e-commerce and information on the Broadband Wireless industry, today announced that telecommunications industry veteran Daniel A. Clapp has accepted the position of National Accounts Director.  Mr. Clapp brings over 28 years of management, sales and technical experience to the Broadband Wireless Exchange and has been tasked with the mission of building programs and processes that will help broadband wireless vendors, operators and the industry as a whole create recognition for their products and services through a combination of public relations, advertising and marketing communications activities.

Mr. Clapp most recently served as Vice President Sales, North America for Spectrum Wireless and Vice President, National Sales for Advanced Radio Telecom, where he developed the company’s indirect sales channel by recruiting, hiring and training a national sales force to secure national accounts.  Clapp played a vital role in developing business opportunities with 50 of the largest Internet Service Providers, Competitive Local Exchange Carriers and Integrated Communications Providers in the North American marketplace.

“We feel extremely fortunate to have an executive of Dan’s stature come aboard and take over our national accounts at this critical time in our growth cycle,” said Broadband Wireless Exchange (BWE) Editor and Publisher, Robert Hoskins. “The BWE is at the stage where developing national and international relationships with vendors and wireless operators will be the key to advancing the broadband wireless industry and positioning fixed broadband wireless access as a vital broadband connectivity option for customers on a global basis.”

“In the last year, we have seen our site’s e-commerce traffic experience a dramatic increase.  In order to channel the interest and make the transition to a true online portal for building bridges between vendors, operators and, most importantly, residential and business customers, we needed someone who had been instrumental at launching large scale sales operations before, and we were very impressed with the track record that Dan has achieved with other broadband wireless initiatives,” Hoskins continued.  “We have every expectation that the marketplace and channels that Dan develops will be extremely important for the phenomenal growth of the broadband wireless industry and the Broadband Wireless Exchange.”
