Announces
Appointment of Three New Board Members
MELBOURNE, Fla., Feb. 4, 2002 - AirNet
Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:ANCC), the technology leader in software
defined base station products for wireless communications, today announced the
appointment of Glenn A. Ehley, Susannah Tam, and Darrell L. Maynard to the board
of directors.
"We are pleased to announce the appointments of
these highly qualified and talented people to our Board," said James W.
Brown, chairman of the board for AirNet. "Each of them has a diverse
background and a record of achievement in their respective fields."
Mr. Ehley, a twenty year veteran of the
telecommunications industry, is currently the president and CEO of AirNet. Mr.
Ehley assumed the helm in August of 2001 and has led an aggressive restructuring
effort focused on developing new business, reducing costs and conserving cash.
Mr. Ehley, who has been with AirNet since 1995, has also previously held a
variety of engineering and marketing positions at Siemens and Lucent Bell Labs.
Ms. Tam is director of investments for CDP Capital in
Montreal, Quebec. Created in 1965 to manage Quebec public funds, CDP has since
become a major player on the world financial stage, managing $125 Billion in
investment portfolios.
Mr. Maynard began his career in communications in 1981.
He is founder and president of Eastern Telephone Company, Inc., a privately held
company located in Pikeville, Kentucky. Under his leadership, Eastern Telephone
became the premier interconnect and computer service organization in rural
Eastern Kentucky. He is the president of SouthEast Telephone, the only provider
of alternative access services (Local Service, Long Distance, Internet &
Paging) for rural Eastern Kentucky. SouthEast Telephone has the distinction of
being the first authorized CLEC in Kentucky.
