World Wireless Communications, Inc.
World Wireless
Communications (Amex: XWC), today announced that it has received a purchase
order from American Control Technologies, Ltd. for 5,000 of its new Super
Hopper Spread Spectrum Radios. The release of the order is subject to final
FCC approval expected at the end of January 2003; the purchase order is valued
at over $500,000.
"The new Super Hopper was developed for use with our X-traWeb under-the-
glass AMR application. However, it soon became apparent to us that given the
improved signal quality, distance, transfer rate and lower cost, the Super
Hopper would be a perfect addition to our OEM radio product line." Stated
David Singer, President and CEO of World Wireless Communications, Inc. "ACT
has long been one of our largest OEM radio customers, they have worked very
closely with us in the development of peripheral products which add to the
flexibility of our OEM radio products. ACT has implemented our radios into a
number of various applications, we are pleased that they will be the first, of
many, customers for our next generation of OEM radio products." Lawrence
Lebeau, CEO of ACT remarked, "We have been integrating our products and World
Wireless products for over two years with great success. We are looking
forward to expanding with the new Super Hopper product line in 2003."
The 900 Super Hopper incorporates s Secure-Sync(TM) technology developed
by World Wireless. This proprietary technology is a major breakthrough in
wireless communication; adding security, throughout efficiency, and error
detection. It dramatically reduces the overhead inherent in other coding
methods and provides faster, effective communication speeds at a much lower
cost. The result? The most reliable and cost-efficient radio available.
The Super Hopper is a powerful 1 Watt transceiver that effectively
communicates at distances up to 40 kilometers (25 miles) line of sight,
depending upon antenna selection and the environment. The Hopper transmits
data at 9600 bps and has a high tolerance to environmental conditions and
interference. Combining high performance and an affordable price, the 900
Super Hopper enables applications previously unable to benefit from wireless
communications. The 900 Super Hopper sets new standards for robust, reliable
wireless communications at an affordable price.
