RadioLAN Adds 802.11a Bridge to Its BridgeLINK
Family of Broadband Wireless Bridges

5 GHz Solution Offers Improved Performance on
Leading, Standards-Based Hardware Platform

RadioLAN, a leader in 5 GHz networking technology, announced today availability of their new BridgeLINK-11a Wireless Ethernet Bridge for Network Administrators and Managers, CLECs, Networking Resellers, and Wireless ISPs.

Designed for Fixed Wireless applications such as building-to-building bridging, LAN interconnect, ISP backhaul, and Wireless WAN, the BridgeLINK-11a Wireless Bridge offers a fast, reliable, and cost-effective method of connecting computer networks in different buildings without wires.

Used in place of dial-up modems or T1 lines, the BridgeLINK-11a offers an extremely fast wireless connection that is easy to maintain and eliminates the recurring cost of leased lines or the expense of running fiber. It supports distances up to two and a half miles and includes a 152-bit encryption system for secure communications. The system uses the license-free 5.3 GHz U-NII frequencies, making it ideal for applications where channel interference in the crowded 2.4 GHz band is an issue.

Typical customers include local school districts looking to connect portable buildings to the main school; cities and towns connecting police, fire, and public works facilities to a city-wide LAN; and small businesses, such as banks or car dealerships that want to link the showroom with the service center or used car lot. It is ideal for Multipoint Backhaul applications, such as Wireless Hot Spots, where co-existence with 802.11b-based Access Points is required.

RadioLAN's BridgeLINK Product Family RadioLAN’s BridgeLINK and Campus BridgeLINK products are plug and play compatible with Ethernet networks, and are completely scalable, allowing networks to expand with no drop in performance. They have a built-in Web server for easy management and configuration, a robust suite of management tools for the most complex enterprise environments, and a proprietary transmission technique that assures a highly secure link.

RadioLAN products are sold and installed by authorized resellers globally. The list price of the new BridgeLINK-11a is $1,799 per side.

    About RadioLAN Marketing Group
Headquartered in San Jose, Calif., RadioLAN designs, manufactures, and markets high-speed wireless products for indoor and outdoor connectivity. Their award-winning BridgeLINK family of Wireless Ethernet Bridges provides building-to-building interconnectivity. RadioLAN products are sold and installed by authorized resellers in the United States and around the World. Further information is available on the Web at http://www.radiolan.com
