Funk Software's New Certified WLAN Security Partner
Program to Include Wireless LAN Security Class

    Planet3 Wireless, Inc., the creators of the Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP) Program, today announced that Funk Software has adopted Planet3's Wireless LAN Security as part of the Funk Certified WLAN Security Partner program.

    The Wireless LAN Security class prepares students for the Certified Wireless Security Professional(TM) (CWSP(TM)) certification.

    Last week, Funk Software announced its Certified WLAN Security Partner Program, which provides VARs, system integrators, security consultants, and other consulting firms with the technical, training, and sales support they need to grow their businesses by offering Funk Software's WLAN security solutions. The Wireless LAN Security class is one of two options for the Instructor Led Training requirement for VARs to become a Funk Certified WLAN Security Partner.

    The Wireless LAN Security class, developed by Planet3 Wireless and a team of over 30 subject matter experts from around the world, is available across the US beginning in January 2003. All Funk VAR employees are eligible for a 20% discount off the cost of the 5-day Wireless LAN Security course.

    The vendor neutral class offers IT professionals hands-on training in the latest intrusion techniques, and Layer 2 and Layer 3 hardware and software solutions for securing wireless LANs. IT Professionals who attend the Wireless LAN Security class will get complete experience installing Funk Software's Odyssey and Steel-Belted Radius software. In addition, students will receive 5 days of hands-on experience with hardware from Cisco, Intermec, Proxim (Orinoco), Symbol, Colubris, Snap Gear, Fortress Technologies; and software from WildPackets, Microsoft, TamoSoft, and Van Dyke Software, among others.

    Wireless LAN Security is the official preparation course for the CWSP certification, which is the second level of certification within the CWNP Program.
