ParthusCeva Demonstrates First Licenseable SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 3, 2002 -
ParthusCeva, Inc. (Nasdaq: PCVA, LSE: PCV) the leading licensor of digital
signal processors (DSP) cores and related Intellectual Property (IP) to the
semiconductor industry, today announced the first licensable IEEE 802.11a
compliant IP platform at 5 GHz. ParthusCeva demonstrated this solution to an
audience of ParthusCeva customers at its offices in San Jose, CA last month
generating positive comment on product's performance and robustness.
In another first for ParthusCeva, this 5 GHz version of the In8Stream(TM)
802.11a platform demonstrated the maturity of the ParthusCeva solution and
showed the capabilities of the novel architecture used. Highlights of this
demonstration included:
* Full 802.11a functionality using a commercial off-the-shelf 5GHz radio "We are extremely excited to demonstrate this breakthrough 802.11 IP
capability to a wider audience. Through the In8Stream platform we are showing
technology leadership within the 802.11 IP environment building on our market
leadership in related wireless markets such as Bluetooth, said Gerry Maguire,
VP and GM of Wireless Solutions Division, ParthusCeva. "The In8Stream(TM)
platform is already having a significant impact on the market and we are
confident that with the wider adoption of our 802.11a technology we will
further secure our market leading position in short-range wireless
communications."
Our interoperable multi-mode b/a/g MAC Hardware core demonstration can be
viewed at the '802.11 Planet Conference', Santa Clara Convention Center
(December 3-5, 2002).
About In8Stream(TM)
* The architecture substantially reduces memory and processor costs, A mixed hardware and software architecture means emerging standards such
as 802.11i, e and h can be implemented in software without the need for new
silicon.
About 802.11 About ParthusCeva Today, the leading licensed DSP architecture comes from ParthusCeva. Over
90 electronic and semiconductor partners have licensed our industry-standard,
open-licensable cores and platforms. In 2001, ParthusCeva partners shipped
more than 80 million silicon chips powered by ParthusCeva technology,
targeting multiple markets from wireless to consumer multimedia, automotive to
networking. For more information, visit us at http://www.parthusceva.com.
