TESSCO to offer Airpath Solutions for Wi-Fi Hot Spot Internet Access

HUNT VALLEY, MARYLAND, AUGUST 20, 2002 - TESSCO Technologies Incorporated (Nasdaq:TESS), a leading supplier of integrated product plus supply chain solutions to the wireless communications industry, announced an agreement with Airpath Wireless, Inc., a recognized leader in the creation, deployment and interconnection of Wi-Fi Hot Spot Internet Access.

Under the agreement, TESSCO has exclusive rights to provide the integration of Airpath hot spot back-office software, including their Hot Spot Billing Suitetm and the Airpath Roaming and Settlement network. Airpath adds value to broadband equipment vendors by creating “Powered By Airpath” or “Airpath Approved” device to complete their broadband equipment solution. The agreement also includes co-marketing and sales efforts.

“Airpath is very excited about our relationship with TESSCO. TESSCO’s extensive network of Broadband manufacturers is an asset for us.  TESSCO’s ability to go to market through strong relationships across diverse customer audiences is important for getting Airpath solutions to the many different types of customers that can benefit from providing Wi-Fi access. With TESSCO’s legendary customer support, these customers will have the quality service we want to present to the marketplace. Together, we are better able to proliferate WiFi technology,” said Tim Barrett, president and co-founder of Airpath Wireless.

According to Rick Guipe, TESSCO’s senior vice president of sales and market development, “With the Airpath back-office solutions, our Broadband manufacturers go to market with a stronger product for the end-user. The Airpath broadband solution provides TESSCO’s carriers, service providers, and especially resellers an additional revenue opportunity. The proliferation of Hot Spot sites throughout the marketplace is contingent on easy to implement and administer roaming and billing solutions.  The Airpath solutions, which can be up and running immediately, will make broadband access and billing issues a non-factor to the proprietor.”
