MeshDynamics Mesh Network Management Platform

Structured Mesh Network Management System

MeshDynamic's Network Management System (NMS) is written in Java on top of IBM's Eclipse Environment. It runs on both Windows and Linux.

It is provided at no additional charge to customers of our mesh nodes/mesh software.

The configuration shown above has 3 root ( the node connected with thick lines) and 4 relay nodes. The network interface shows alternate paths (dotted) and the current connectivity. Also, the ID of clients associated with each AP and ID of AP nodes nearby is available through the list box on the left. The status screen (bottom) reports current activity of the mesh - heart beats, channel changes etc.

NMS support comprehensive network system management — including policy management:
  • Management scales to support thousands of wireless nodes
  • Configuration and control available 3 ways: SNMPv3, Telnet or a web browser
  • 802.1x/Extensible Authentication Protocol enables policy-based networking

Default mesh control layer parameters may be modified by 3 methods:

  • Right clicking on any of the nodes brings up a configuration panel.
  • A SNMPv3 interface is also provided for configuration of the nodes.
  • NMS supports a web server configuration interface to the nodes.

Remote Upgrades: Through a secure interface between the mesh nodes and the NMS software upgrades can be scheduled to be automatically downloaded and installed on the mesh nodes.
